Sleeping with Mr. Sexy by S.L. Scott

Lydia Nichols is on the fast track for career success. She's landed the job of her dreams after working her way up the corporate ladder. The only problem is she's in San Francisco and the dream job is in New York. With one last night to party with her friends before moving cross country, she goes all out, letting down her guard, and following her heart. Dubbed Mr. Sexy, the ladies love Chase Andrews. Despite his bad boy good looks, he’s a nice guy with a good heart. While out celebrating his best friend’s promotion, Chase decides to go after the one woman who has always captivated his mind and body, but eluded him. The only problem with his plan is the object of his affection is too caught up in following her dreams to notice. A few cocktails, laughs, secret crushes, and good friends set the stage for these two to discover what they’ve been missing all along. Sleeping with Mr. Sexy is the story of two people who do the best they can with the choices they make. Join Lydia and Chase as they navigate their post-college years trying to balance careers, love, friendship, and the discovery that finding yourself sometimes means coming home.

This is essentially a fall-in-love-with-best-friend-who-is-smoking-hot-but-don’t-know-it-until-I-sleep-with-him book. Okay, first of all I have to say that I’m all down for a little angst and some separation from love to learn what it really means. This book took it a bit far for my taste, but to each is own.
Chase is HOT!!! I will give him that. And the guy on the cover is super swoon worthy. YET… I can’t help but lose some major respect for him because he doesn’t seem to have a backbone. He waits years….YEARS…to tell this girl he loves her, then sleeps with her while she’s drunk and let’s her take off and ignore him for more YEARS… THEN!!! He calls off a marriage so that he can pine away for her some more for MORE YEARS… Come on dude…
I won’t even begin my rant on Lydia… I wanted to beat her over the head with a frying pan… ‘Nough said… Overall, it was an entertaining read. The ending seemed waaaay too sugar coated for me, especially after everything that had happened in the past, but hey… it’s a short story. But it is the reason I only gave this read 3 heels.
